Me and my friend Sarah rode and ran Saguaro National Park today before work. We are on the same shift so it works out perfect. She is doing Ironman Tempe next month, so she is motivating me to do an Ironman someday soon. That is one thing I have not done yet. It was so beautiful out there with all the cactus blooming and the rode was smooth and fast. Posted by Picasa
You would not think that something so dry and ugly could produce something so beautiful. Spring in the Desert. Posted by Picasa

We got back from White Tanks last night and got some well deserved sleep. We got in a good night of camping and some hard racing, the rain held off so the conditions where perfect. We had a big field, lots of people in town tuning up the legs for next weeks national. I could only manage a 9th, my race went OK but I was definitely lacking in the power department, looks like I've got some interval work to do. Spring had a good race and got 2nd, I think she's faster now than when she used to race all the time. Sue made it look easy with a win and Jennifer did her first race, she did awesome blood and all. After the race we got to go hang with Alan, Becky and Angela, Spring's family from Indiana. It was good seeing everybody and catching up. Posted by Picasa

We had an excellent weekend, Spring and I did the group ride yesterday and got a good mtb ride in today, I think I'm finally over the sickness that put me down last week. This afternoon Jennifer, Troy and Tristan where in town from Phoenix. We went down to Soniota to do some wine tasting, it was fun and we got to taste alot of good wine. Spring had to work so I drank twice as much. Posted by Picasa

Aaahh yea!!! Posted by Picasa
Spring and I got reminded this evening that we don't live in Hawaii anymore, oh yea, other places have snakes. We where out hiking the soldier trail on the Catalina's this evening and I hear Spring scream, I turn around and see a coiled rattle snake inchs from Spring's feet between us in the middle of the trail. Spring said the snake was about half way across the trail when she screamed, her scream caused the snake to coil up and strike. I was about 4 ft in front of her so I had to of stepped over top of the snake, I didn't even see it. We could be in the emergency room right now if things would have worked out differently. We would have pictures but when we broke out the camera on the trail we realized that we left the battery at home charging. Here's some pics of my new toys, I went disc and got a new set of crossmax sl's, sweet. Posted by Picasa

Me and Molly hiking Sabino Canyon. Posted by Picasa
Me and Molly hiked Sabino Canyon on Saturday, it was the first time I got to see her belly, it was the cutest thing. She is due in May and her and Rob seem really happy. They are going to have a boy. Although not riding so much anymore she has not let the baby slow her down she is still raging and hiking every week. Posted by Picasa

I went and did the 2nd annual Revenge of the Bunny TT today, it was a nine mile course at Fantasy Island that consisted of the Bunny trail, snake loop and a new section they just added. It was super windy but we had a good time. Check it out at www.cosmicraces.com. Posted by Picasa

More smarter

Got this little binder in the mail today informing me that I've been accepted into the MBA program at the Eller School of Business at the University of Arizona. Its a two year program that starts in May, the classes are in the evenings so it will allow me to continue to work full-time while I'm going to school, I'm psyched. We also got a little bike ride in today. We went over Gates, around McCain Loop, back over Gates, down to Madara Canyon, climbed it twice then rode home. It ended up being 125 miles and 7+ hrs of riding time, by far the biggest ride I've done in awhile. I'm gonna sleep good tonight.
