My first Quiche!
I was always under the impression that a Quiche has to take all day to make. It was easier then making scrambled eggs. I put turkey bacon, spinach, mushrooms, onions, garlic and cheese on a Trader Joes crust, threw it in the oven and 30 minutes later. Yummy! I did my first group ride today since before the Tour de Tucson and it was so fun even though I got dropped on McCain Loop. I have to work on those short power climbs.

Looks like we are going to have a great Specialized Design for Women Team this year. I am very excited and fortunate to be on a team with such great girls. We will be posting updates about each race on this Womens Bike Talk page starting next month.

Hiking and riding in the rain
Kevin and I have been working some wierd shifts so we have been getting out in the evenings to hike and ride. Thursday we got all ready to ride and we got down the street and it started to really rain so we turned around and decided to hike. We always say we live in Tucson why ride in the rain, you just wait a day and it will be sunny again. Well Friday evening we put on the lights and headed out to Starr Pass, well it started to rain but we talked about how it was 60 degrees and this would be a good training day if you lived in the Northern US or Eastern US, well anywhere besides Tucson, so we committed and mtb in the rain. Today was sunny again but not for long with an upper low moving through AZ by Tues getting more rain. I rode Bug Springs today, I am really loving that trail, up on Mt Lemmon, you get a great workout. So we are back into riding and cutting out desserts, well atleast everyday, with racing starting next month, and I am not ready, but it should be fun.

Back to the grind, vaca is over...
Vegas was nice and relaxing, you wouldn't think that if you are going there to party. We cooked some great meals and fixed dessert every day, putting on 5 lbs. Kevin and I got to do some good riding, it is great in Vegas. Where my brother lives on Blue Diamond you can head up the street and ride for 2 hours solid without hitting a light or stop sign with some great climbing.

My brother and I have not started having kids yet, so my mom has to give piggy backs to the other grandchildren, my brothers kitten.

A huge over pass is being built to remove the traffic over Hoover Dam, so you get to see two incredible engineering feat's if you drive through southern NV.

Vacation take two!
Mexico was beautiful! After downing a few margarita's we realized we shouldn't drink the water, but we never got sick, most places filter the water. San Carlos has a lot to offer good hiking, kite boarding, running on the beach, and karaoke and margaritas at froggies. Kevin and I will be heading south more to get some kite boarding and beach time in. I am in Vegas with my mom, brother & sister in law and Kevin flies in today. Our vacation is officially over on Monday, so we are riding and enjoying the final days.

Happy New Year, Vacation Time
Kevin and I leave for Mexico in the morning with his brother and parents, we are heading to San Carlos to relax, no bikes, no work, no Trader Joes, its going to be hard after logging around 500 miles this week but I think I can handle it. Then we come back for a couple days and off to visit my mom and brother in Las Vegas. Major family bonding, I can't wait.
I got to ride with two of my great friends Kim and Molly, it has been forever since we mtb together, it was very fun and non competitive, which was wierd because we used to all race and every ride had to be hard to see who was the strongest.

Kevin's Parents made it to town, the eating has spead up and the riding has slowed down. The Academy leaves today with one last ride with my friend Molly Renner out at Star Pass. We are staying at the Resort out at Star Pass so it has been rough. We leave for Mexico on Monday with one last night of working tonight before we are trully on vacation.
