Today I ventured out to Sanoita/Kentucky Camp I have not Mt biked there since we left. I got lost at first, found myself on a 4 hour ride at noon, not smart, but I am glad I brought my hawg Camel back, it saved me.

Me and Kevin finally got some time together before he heads to Vegas for about a month for training. We camped up on Mt Lemmon after one of my 12 hour shifts, I drank some Sparks to stay awake. We had a fire and watched a gangsta movie. We rode From Rose Canyon Lake up Aspen Draw and Meadow Spring's trail the next morning. 3 hour ride, this is us driving down the Mt. at Windy Point.

On my three days off I drove up on Mt Lemmon in Tucson to get out of the heat and stayed at Rose Canyon Lake, and you thought we didn't have any water here. It was nice and cool and I tried to fish, no luck, others were getting trout around me, they were using worms and all I had was corn, I guess they were smarter then that. I rode Aspen Draw again and checked out Butterfly trail, not smart to be riding on a side of a mountain by yourself, I will run next time. I did the group ride this morning out to Sahuaro East National Park it was really fun, I have never done that loop with a bunch of people, I guess having fun on my Mt. bike is helping, because I felt really good. Back to work tomorrow. Yuck!

After many hours of studying and paper writing this week I thought that I would take the oppurtunity to attend the latest addition of Bars on Bikes. It's an excuse to combine the activities of riding your bike and drinking. We all had a good time and succeed in our mission. The only thing that sucked about it was Spring was in the middle of a 3 day 12 hr work-a-thon so she couldn't go, don't worry I'm sure there will be another one soon.

We had a surprise visit from our good friends Ben and Lisa. I got to hang out with them before I went on my 3 day 12 hour shift stent. It was really good to see them and we always laugh the whole time we hang out with them. We are looking forward to them getting married in Tucson. We chose to do a night hike instead of the traditional Kon Tiki's for scorpian bowls.

Since the 2003 fire I had not ridden Aspen Draw because I thought it was long gone. Last weekend when me and Kevin were camping up on Mt Lemmon we saw a friend that had just got done riding it and said it was great. So I checked it out today. I think it is better then I remember it, or I am just a little better rider. It was so fun I did it twice. It is a great escape from the desert heat this time of year and I was the only one on the trail. It is worth checking out. This is a shot looking down at Tucson, alot was burnt. Aspen Draw is on the opposite side with only the top burnt.
