The North Shore is Amazing!

I pretty much spend all my days off on the North Shore. After the mountain man Xterra race I drove up for a surprise birthday party that Steve threw for Cristina, which included awesome Thai food, a cake with a edible picture of her mountain biking on it and a bon fire on the beach.

Today started with yoga under an open pavillion in Waimea Valley with peacocks flying around, then paddle with Cristina and run on the beach. Hard to top this day! Back to reality tomorrow with five 12 hour shifts...at least this weekend will keep me smiling.

I got 1st in my age group and quilified for Worlds on Maui with zero time to train. The race was short and brutal and the non training is catching up, I won't be able to fake it on Maui.

Those black things on the hill side are some happy cows.

Kailua Beach today, beautiful!

I made my first Thai dish, yellow curry with okinawan potatoes. Turned out good and easy, just coconut milk, curry powder (coriander, turmeric, red pepper, fenugreek) and veggies.

No easing into things...........
My second ride on my boat was the Sunset to Haleiwa race. Christina talked me into it because it was right out her back door. It was so much fun. Her boyfriend Steve filmed the whole thing on his jet ski. I must of flipped about 10 times not used to my boat yet, but it was so much fun. Good waves to ride and I needed a six hour nap afterwards.

I am counting down with only 5 more night shifts until I go to days. For two months I have lived in zombie land and excited to be on a regular schedule. Kevin and I bought tickets to Zurich Switzerland for Sep, we are so excited we can't wait.
